Garey & Erica
Garey and Erica founded Whoa Doggy! in January, 2011 as newlyweds, inspired by their “first born”, a Black Lab mix named Cody. These two New Jersey natives landed in Atlanta in early 2008, after a brief time living in San Diego, where Erica received her MBA. After a few years gaining valuable experience in their respective professional careers in corporate settings, Erica and Garey set out to live their passion of working with animals. When the idea for Whoa Doggy! was conceived, it didn’t take long before Erica left her job to pursue the dream, and about six months later, Garey traded in his briefcase for a leash (and a hefty stash of poop bags!) and never looked back!
Today, Garey and Erica live in Decatur with their two rescued Black Lab mixes, Luke and Cody, their daughter, Violet, and son, Victor. In addition to being passionate about animals, Garey is a photographer, and an avid cyclist, training and competing with the Litespeed-BMW Cycling Team. Erica loves being a mom, and is very passionate about business. She coaches women who want to start and grow their own businesses and pursue their dreams. Erica is also an active volunteer and participant in Team In Training, an endurance sports training program supporting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
